Want to make slime without glue? It’s easy!

Tired of the kids begging to create homemade slime?

Yeah, me too.

Eventually, I caved to the pressure and learned the basics of slime science.

I tried a few different recipes and several different ways.

Some recipes were incredibly easy.

A few were a much more difficult than necessary.

One or two slime experiments were damn gross.

Here are my favorites.

Making Slime Without Glue Or Borax

YOU’LL NEED:

  • Skim milk
  • Vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • A coffee filter

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Combine 7 tablespoons of skim milk and 1 tablespoon of vinegar
  • Then, gently stir the mixture until solids have formed.
  • Allow the solids to sink to the bottom of the mixture.
  • Drain off the liquid using the coffee filter for a few minutes.
  • Add ¼ teaspoon of baking soda to the mixture and knead together by hand.

Have You Ever Made Super Slime?!?

Super slime is the clear, gooey kind. This slime is non-toxic but there are different chemicals involved so supervise kids during this process. Be sure kids wash their hand thoroughly after executing this slime recipe and after play.

YOU’LL NEED:

  1. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)
  2. Borax (Sodium tetraborate)
  3. Beaker or jar
  4. Food coloring (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Pour ½ cup of the PVA solution into a beaker. Add food coloring and stir with a stir stick.
  • Next, add 2 teaspoons of the Borax into the PVA solution and stir slowly.
  • Once the slime has formed, you can play with it.
  • This slime will last longer in a sealed plastic bag in the fridge

How To Create Slime With Glue & Borax

YOU’LL NEED:

  • Liquid glue
  • Borax (Sodium tetraborate)
  • Water
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Two bowls for mixing

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • In one bowl mix 1 oz. glue (about ¼ of the glue bottle) and ¼ cup water. Add food coloring to the glue and water mixture if you want colored slime.
  • Slowly mix ¼ cup of the Borax to the glue and water mixture.
  • The slime will begin to form immediately.
  • Stir as much as you can, then dig in and knead it with your hands until it gets less sticky.
